As we miss all of you in the chair, everyone is adjusting to the national response for the 2020 pandemic, we want to help you to take care of your hair during your time off from the office.
Here are a few tips on how to care for your hair while you are at home.
Have you ever found yourself in a constant battle with frizz and dryness? Or maybe you’ve felt stuck waiting hours for your hair to dry after shampooing?
The truth is, porous hair may be the cause of a number of your biggest concerns. From retaining excess water to issues with uneven hair color, hair can be over “processed” from lightening your hair, making porous hair seem impossible to manage. No need to worry! By figuring out your hair’s porosity level and finding products that can help with your hair type, it’s definitely possible to strike the right balance.
How do you decide what product to use?
Ask yourself what your biggest challenge is with your hair; whether it’s dry and damaged, oily, itchy scalp, split ends, etc, then you can decide what deep conditioner is best suited for you. One United is a great option by Redken, it is a good leave-in treatment spray and nourishes the hair while providing 25 (you read that right, 25!) benefits including but not limited to: conditioning, softening, detangling, strengthening, moisturizing, protecting, smoothing… I could go on about this miracle product; and it can be intimidating, though, to look at a product that is supposed to do it all and expect it to, well, do it all. Believe me, it does!
Here’s what to do
At home you can apply the deep conditioner, or hair treatment that best fits your hair needs! What I like to do is apply a deep conditioner to my dry hair, put a shower cap on (heat opens the hair cuticle, and treatment will penetrate the hair strand better), leave it on for as long as you want then rinse and you’re all done! Or you can shampoo your hair then apply to wet hair, and leave it in and rinse like normal. Your hair will feel amazing!
